FELLOWSHIP HOUR UPDATES
Now it will be simpler and less costly to sponsor Fellowship Hour! Hosts may bring treats of their choices and the Deacons will provide gluten-free snacks and some suitable treats for diabetics. Look for the sign-up sheet on the small bulletin board in Findley Hall. Choose a Sunday to share your favorite treats with our church family after worship! Here are the revised guidelines:
The second chapter of Acts describes the fellowship of the believers after the Holy Spirit came at Pentecost. Verse 42 states that, “they (these first Christians) devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching and to the fellowship to the breaking of bread and to prayer”….as should be.
Thank you for volunteering to host Fellowship Hour after our worship service. Fellowship Hour is an important part of Sunday mornings at SHUP. It gives us an opportunity to welcome visitors and talk with one another, giving encouragement and support. We are a church family and the body of Christ. Please provide the following:
* 15 to 20 dozen donut holes, cookies, breads, etc. It is not necessary to provide other treats unless you want to. There are serving tongs, trays, bowls, and baskets in the church kitchen and in the first store room on the left as you enter Findley Hall from the parking lot. Look for labels on cabinets.
* 3 gallons of punch, juice or a drink mix such as Kool-Aid. Pitchers and a punch bowl are located in the kitchen.
* 1 pint of half-and-half for the coffee.
Nonperishable gluten-free and sugar-free snacks will be provided by the Deacons every Sunday. We ask that the Fellowship Hour hosts serve these snacks and place descriptive signs with them.
They are stored in a big plastic bin marked “gluten-free and sugar-free snacks for Fellowship Hour” on top of the freezer in the store room off Findley Hall. The descriptive signs are stored with the snacks.
Napkins, cups, plates and plastic tableware are also located in this store room. A roll of paper table cover is beside the freezer in the hall outside the kitchen. Scissors and tape are in the kitchen drawer near the phone.
Please speak with a Deacon, or call the church office if you have questions. Thank you again for serving us all and providing a friendly Fellowship Hour.
